Photos with the boys

When I was going through old folders of photos to make my decade slideshow I came across a set of photos that Aaron took back in 2014. 

I'd just started the Famagusta Parents Network as it was called back then and had been interview by the Cyprus Mail, and to accompany the interview I had to send them a photo. 

I decided to use the boys as a cute distraction and asked Aaron to get a pic of the three of us. 

Here it is...


Looks lovely doesn't it, blue skies, gorgeous boys, happily family by the sea.  Just sit down, take a quick photo and then carry on with a carefree family outing. 

If you think that you are spending too much time on social media!

At the time I used the photo for the article, and I posted it to facebook.   While I've never deliberatley tried to portray a perfect online image by any means, I don't post the bad stuff - who wants to read that anyway, and who wants to look at 100s of photos of the same thing.      I post photos online that I would put in a photo album, I keep a few more but not everything I ever take as that would just be too much to ever look through again.  

There are a few from that day that I didn't post though,  and these were just a fraction of the ones that Aaron took, he would have deleted tons before I'd even got to see any. 

This one isn't bad, not newspaper worthy, I look a bit distracted but at least no one is crying.



This one is where I am trying to persuade the boys to sit still, just for ONE MOMENT PLEASE, and look at Daddy, and smile at the same time.




And this one, is the one that is now my favourite.



Mainly because we are many years past this point, and I don't have to fight with wriggly toddlers anymore.  

I love the bored look on Leo's face, the look on mine and I know that Louka would have just probably hit my chin with his head as he fought to escape. 

It's the look that comes just before the sigh and the realisation that I'd rather just go home and put a DVD on for the boys than go for a walk by the sea. 

I also love the fact that Louka's top says 'Happy happy little chappy'  and the noise he would have been making at that point would have definitely contradicted that. 

The moral of the story...  never trust the facebook photos!

I've never written this blog as if no-one was reading it, although of course when I first started no-one was reading it as no-one knew about it.  I was trying to remember the exact reasons I started it, and I think the number one was to document our move to Cyprus,   I can't imagine that I would have thought anything else would have been worth reading but that would have been interesting,  I'd have certainly enjoyed reading someone else's story, and have done many times.  I also thought it would be something to do, and a great thing to look back on,  I realised it was an important point in my life,  new Mum and moving abroad.  I was right, I do enjoy occasionally looking back over old posts,  some I hate but overall I'm pretty proud of my blog.  I do miss it, and considered many times stopping and taking it offline.  I never wanted to officially end it though and so always left it here just in case.  Back in November 2022 I wro...

My best Slimming World recipe EVER! - Cheesy Meatball Pasta Bake

Since going back to Slimming World at the start of January I've been making an effort to try some new recipes and keep varying my food every day. Although there is an endless choice when it comes to what you 'can' eat with Slimming World, like anything it's all too easy to fall into a habit of eating the same things day in and day out.  I have many SW cookbooks as well as a folder with lots of recipes that I've collected from the magazine over the years, I've actually made very few though! Last week I decided to try a new one out, and I wish I'd made it sooner! Cheesy Meatball Pasta Bake was a massive hit with the whole family and possibly one of the best main Slimming World meals I've ever made! You need... The one with the announcement!

You may have noticed a bit less in the way of blogging from me over the last couple of weeks, although this was handily disguised by Christmas the real reason can now be revealed.... Yep..... I'm pregnant! Regular readers of my blog will possibly guess this wasn't entirely planned (or even vaguely!) but 'Que Sera sera' and all that! I found out just before Christmas and although I was fairly sure as I took the test (even though one before had been negative) it was still  huge shock to see those two lines staring back at me.  People had asked if we planned to have another and my standard response was always 'No, but never say never'  Truthfully I'd always wanted two children but finances and living space was never conducive to having a bigger family.  The timing could be MUCH better, as Aaron is still looking for work, and we are struggling, and we sold Leo's cot only in November! but as several people have told us, it will all work out in the ...
