Ding Dong Bells

Image
Most days during the summer we have our routine visit from the Ice Cream man, (When they are not digging the roads up that is!)  although last year Leo had no idea that this interesting van served any purpose other than to drive around playing a nice tune and I was in no rush to inform him differently.  For a start he usually comes between 6pm and 7pm, just as Leo was  in the bath or about to go to bed, I didn't want to have to start him asking for one every day, and he didn't even really like ice cream last year! However, he did love to hear the music and each day would go charging outside asking to be picked up shouting 'its ding dong bells Mummy, up!' I got into the habit each day of picking him up to show him and his little wave would be returned by the 'Ding dong bell man' who uses the dead end bit of road outside to turn around.  Towards the end of the summer it was getting a bit annoying as we HAD to stop whatever we were doing to go and see h...

The things they say

A while ago I wrote a post 'They really do say the funniest things'  and although there is a chance that Leo might not appreciate it later on I intended to do it regularly (working on the theory that it's cute and I'm sure he'll realise that eventually!)   As I hadn't got round to blogging but knew I'd forget these hilarious words of wisdom I've been scribbling the odd one down in a notebook so these are now a little bit old but complete gems! Back in the depths of winter (which is surprisingly cold in Cyprus with no heating and marble floors) I was trying to persuade Leo to put his socks on, we had to fight all through the winter to get him to wear more than a t-shirt - I spent most of it wearing three jumpers, thick socks and slipper boots.  It was early in the morning and at the time of the 'sock debate' we were watching 'Barney' which had African dancers in it.   'Why I got to wear socks Mummy' 'Because the floo...

They really do say the funniest things!

Image
I know it's often said that kids say the funniest things but I never expected to be rolling about in hysterical laughter as often as I am with a 2 year old. Leo comes out with some absolute classics and often has brilliant (purely coincidental) comic timing. It recently occurred to me that I'm never going to remember later the things he said that I found so funny, until I remembered I had a blog that is.... So I'll apologise now Leo, in advance but try not to look at these as embarrassing in later life, more as cute! Trying to get cough medicine into Leo has been an absolute nightmare, worked ok for a few days until he just refused until promised chocolate coin afterwards. The other morning he had the medicine and his chocolate and then five minutes later asked for more chocolate. Leo: Can I have more chocolate please Mummy? Me: No, you just had some. I told you, you only have one Leo: Oh please Mummy, I want more chocolate Me: No, you can't have more chocola...

The Gallery - Show me the funny

Image
This weeks Gallery was very tricky, yes I do realise I often say that but the problem this week was slightly different. You see the prompt was "Show me the funny" as usual I have a whole host of photos I could use, and a hundred funny stories to go with them.  When you have been to the amount of adult only Butlins weekends as we have and held as many parties with our mad bunch of friends it's inevitable really. My favourite is a friend of our dancing in his boxer shorts at a fancy dress party we had, holding a bottle of champagne in one hand. I also have a whole series of photos taken over a couple of years of a friend posing with cleaning cones - it turned into a tradition every time we went away! I could go on and on. The reason I haven't used them is the fact that although I may be in a different country now but I think those involved may jump on a plane and come and slap me round the head. Instead I give you.... These were taken back in March wh...
