Blogging Buddies

There has often been debate between Aaron and I over who you can class as friends, I am often known to mention something about a friend in conversation only to have him ask me 'Do you mean an 'actual' friend or some random person on the internet?'  I am the first to admit that I spend a lot of time online and through blogging I have made many acquaintances via twitter, facebook and forums and I can agree that many of them could be classed (in the nicest possible way!) as 'random internet people' However, there are 3 bloggers who I do class as my friends, the fact I haven't yet met them is completely irrelevant!   Jenny , Lauren and 'Me' (as in 'The Boy and Me ),  and yes I do realise the irony in having a friend with no name!) are three people who would definitely make it onto my Christmas card list. The three of them got to meet up recently at a blogging event in London and I may have sulked just a little bit that I couldn't go too! (not ...

You may have noticed that Leo is a bit of a Thomas fanatic, this both amuses and slightly disturbs me but I think it may be catching! A friend of mine said recently that she hated Thomas and I was momentarily lost for words..... how can you hate the little blue engine! Along with a selection of cups, books, clothes, games, DVDs, a Thomas scooter and of course a great set of wooden tracks and engines we have a new 'Thomas' love here in our house... Some time ago I decided to show him the Thomas and Friends website, and it turns out he's just like his Mother when you stick a laptop in front of him, I think if left to decide when to turn it off he would be there for weeks on end!  For a while now we've looked at it occasionally to see the engines, which is about as much as I let him do with my reluctance to let him use the laptop .  He can now name every engine on there and there are more than 60, I'm not sure but I think he can read the names to a certain deg...

Dear so and so

Dear Weather, I know I've given you a hard time for years, you've been too cold, too wet, too windy and generally rubbish and unpredictable to me for years in the UK. I don't mean to complain now but I'm really  trying to get used to this hot sunny stuff which I've found out means it's summer. I'm really hot, but it's all good honest and I'd rather it this way, just maybe could you share it about a bit and send some to England, there's more than enough here and perhaps we could share? from a slightly sweaty Emma Dear Leo, Well done little man for learning to say "ta" it's adorable and very polite, especially as you are doing it unprompted when given things now. I think you are going to be walking soon too as you are really starting to get the hang of "cruising" along the sofa! From your loving Mummy. Dear AJ, Thank you, for working so hard to look after us and for wanting to move to Cyprus. I admire you for be...

Facebook, forums and friends...

My name is Emma and I am a facebook addict.... and I do not care! Is that a bad thing? Why, I wonder do I always feel the need to under exaggerate how often I go on FB? ok, I'm sure you are wondering now.... honestly I would say on an average day maybe 10 times. When asked I usually play it down a bit then go on to explain starting a sentence with "in my defence....." Why do I feel I need a defence?? Just so you know, my defence is usually something to do with living in Cyprus and staying in contact with friends/family or being at home most of the day with Leo, not knowing that many people here. BUT, I sometimes was on it almost as much in England! I really struggled when we first moved here with no phone and internet, we has no TV either but I can live without that much easier. I really did feel like someone had cut my arms off, when we finally got connected and AJ had to take the laptop to work I could have cried. I struggle to remember what I did online before FB, i...
