Dear So and So - The busy edition

Image
Several years ago I used to regularly join in with a blog 'linky called 'Dear So and So'   where participants got the chance to talk, rant, thank or express themselves however they wished to people, or random things.  Recently my blogging friend Michelle has breathed new life into 'Dear So and So'  and as my blog could also do with some new life I decided to join in once more.  Dear Readers,  Are you still there?   Thank you for sticking around even though it's not as busy here as it once was. I'm spreading myself a bit thinner than I used too but you can also find me blogging at Klik Photo CY now for all things photo related and on my other site the Famagusta Parents Network for all things 'Cyprus' related.  I love all three of my little bits of the internet and like three very demanding and high maintenance kids I try to treat them all whilst loving them all the same amount! xxx Dear Blog, I nearly left it a wh...

Dear So and So

I've not joined in with Kat's Dear So and So for ages and I've rather missed it... Dear Leo, It's your party next!! I know it's been a very exciting week with two other birthday parties and I know you've had great fun at both of them. I have taken note of your party requests and we definitely have cake, candles, balloons, hats and bread. Not sure why bread is such an essential party item but bread we shall have. (maybe you have got it confused with that other party essential, beer - we shall have that as well but that will be Mummy's 'juice') I hope you have lots of fun tomorrow and enjoy your '(Mickey) Mouse party' Love Mummy xxx ******** Dear Rain, What are you doing here? It's May, your time is up now, bugger off and don't come back for the summer like you usually do. Don't you realise I have eight 2 year olds plus parents coming round tomorrow and unless we are outside they will not fit in my apartment. Slightly ...

Dear New Radiators, Welcome to our previously cold apartment, it's so nice to meet you, you gorgeous toasty warm black shiny things. I know we won't need to use you for much longer but rest assured we are loving your company at the moment and can assure you we will welcome you back on come November. Yours, warm and snugly at last, Emma. ********** Dear BBC Entertainment channel Your schedule is RUBBISH, why do you think anyone would want to watch the same episodes of Eastenders, Doctors and The Weakest Link four times in one day. It's not even up to date Eastenders, and Last of the Summer Wine and Keeping Up Appearances make me turn over and watch Arabic television because they are that bad. Are you assuming we live abroad so have not seen proper BBC recently or is just a case of 'they aren't paying a licence fee so sod'em'. What about Top Gear, Doctor Who and QI for start? And don't even get me started on the Cbeebies offerings! Yours, missin...

Dear Solicitors, Where the bloody hell is our cheque? I know nothing happens quickly/on time here but when you said at the start of October it should be with in about a month I then kinda expected it by the end of the year. It's FOUR MONTHS later now and we need it 3 months ago! Impatient and skint Emma Dear Leo, I'm pleased that you love to colour, however 5.30am is not an acceptable colouring time, nor do I wish to be presented with crayons and paper whilst sitting on the toilet. Also please remember that you draw ON THE PAPER. You are very clever and I'm pleased that you can now name the colours especially your favourite - PURPLE - although I'm not sure you have to shout this one at the top of your voice each time you see it somewhere, I think the passing woman in supermarket wearing a purple top was a little bit alarmed. Your very uncreative and artistic so very impressed Mother. Dear Washing, It's 17 degrees outside so why the hell are you not dry...

Dear so and so - New Year special!

Dear 2010, It's time to say goodbye, you've been an interesting year, definitely like none I've had before. I won't be too sad to see you go, because although you've not been too bad to us I am all for onwards and upwards in 2011. I will always look back on you with great fondness as I will forget the bad bits (and there weren't that many - either that or I've forgotten  already). You were the first and probably last year that I spent the whole time with my boy, it's not always been fun, I've been very tired at times  and at times I've struggled with finding things to do . but on the whole it's been great that I've had this time with him and we've had lots of fun together. You were the year that Cyprus became our home  and we finally settled in to our apartment. I also developed a love of blogging, when I first started back in 2009 , I didn't ever expect to enjoy it this much. I've found some great blogs to read which h...

Dear Car, I am not impressed, at all. It may be Christmas and a time for presents but you are a car and traditionally you do not get presents. Even if you did you'd be lucky to get a hanging air freshener or if you'd been a really good car maybe a set of new mats or something. But you haven't been a good car, you have had a slow puncture and no air-con during the hottest summer months so I am not impressed that you are demanding anything at all let alone a whole new bloody engine!!!!!!! Yours, a very angry (and skint) pedestrian. Dear UK friends, You should be receiving Christmas cards very soon, did you remember us? Did you remember the last posting date for overseas?   Hmmm, are we going to be getting cards in January again? At least that means you remember us eventually then, either that or you get mine and think 'bugger'! Thinking of you all, your slightly further away but still on the end of a phone / laptop friends in Cyprus xxxx Dear Santa, W...

Dear Scouts. OH MY GOD please stop with your bloody band practice! I realise that may be a little harsh especially as you obviously need the practice. I can only hope you are just practising for the bank holiday on Thursday and then you will give it a rest for while again. Yours, Emma, with a pounding headache. Dear Leo, I'm very proud that you can walk and run about and I understand that it's very exciting and you want to do it all the time, however please believe me when I say it's time to go in the car, usually we are going out to do something much more exciting than walking round the car park. Oh, and well done for sleeping through the bloody racket the scouts are making. Big kisses, from your loving Mummy xx Dear Sick bug, We are very glad to see the back of you, you were very unpleasant and stole almost a week from us altogether. You are now doing the rounds with other people here - it's about time you gave up and disappeared now. No one li...

Dear so and so

Dear Weather, I know I've given you a hard time for years, you've been too cold, too wet, too windy and generally rubbish and unpredictable to me for years in the UK. I don't mean to complain now but I'm really  trying to get used to this hot sunny stuff which I've found out means it's summer. I'm really hot, but it's all good honest and I'd rather it this way, just maybe could you share it about a bit and send some to England, there's more than enough here and perhaps we could share? from a slightly sweaty Emma Dear Leo, Well done little man for learning to say "ta" it's adorable and very polite, especially as you are doing it unprompted when given things now. I think you are going to be walking soon too as you are really starting to get the hang of "cruising" along the sofa! From your loving Mummy. Dear AJ, Thank you, for working so hard to look after us and for wanting to move to Cyprus. I admire you for be...
