Our very easy homemade Halloween treats

Image
Trick or treating is not something that I imagine would go down well here in Cyprus but I arranged with a few of our neighbours that we would knock during our Halloween party.   I looked for some party bags or something that I could give the children to collect their treats in but couldn't find any, so went straight to Pinterest for inspiration.  The Craft Train came up trumps with these printable pumpkin baskets. Very easy to make, even for me! I printed the template onto orange paper and then stuck it to old cereal packets to make it a bit more robust.  Then it was just a case of cutting, folding and sticking as shown and adding a handle! I also decided to get a bit creative when it came to the food thanks to pinterest  and the ideas I'd been collecting... Witches hats , which was fun to do with Leo even though it made one hell of a mess! Nice and easy - all you need is melted chocolate, ice cream cones and digestive b...

Searching for pirate treasure

Image
Now I'm back to being at home on my own with Leo each day I'm always trying to come up with new and interesting things to do, not just for Leo but for me too - there are only so many times you can watch 'Thomas' or read the same book over and over before you go mad! I must apologise for bringing up the 'C word' so early.....Christmas is not actually that far away, but you probably knew that. I imagine that in the UK it's been everywhere you turn for weeks now? but here it's only the last week or so that I've seen or heard any mention of it. I'll soon be reading all the usual stuff online about Christmas stress and shopping in tweets and facebook statuses and be thankful that I'm out of it, don't get me wrong I LOVE Christmas but can't stand all the faffing about presents...  who everyone is or isn't buying for, how much it's costing etc etc I like to think that maybe people are going to worry less about it all with so many people now struggling for money but I'm probably being optimistic. This year, for the first time I'm doing home-made stuff, it may not be brilliant but it's the thought that counts and it's that or nothing!  I only be doing things for a very small amount of  peopl...
