Questions in Quarantine

Image
During lock down when facebook wasn't full of COVID posts there were several question and answer posts doing the rounds,  one was a list of questions to ask your child.  I asked the boys but didn't put it on facebook,  not when there's a blog post to be made of it!  I've had the answers written down for months now so thought I would share.  Leo was first, and as usual was very literal and slightly sarcastic in his answers   1. If you won a million pounds, what would you buy? Nothing because I'm not in England.  2. How long does it take to get to America? Depends from where and how you are travelling. 3. What does Mummy always say to you? "Love you"  or "Leave me alone I'm eating" 4. What job would you like to do when you're older? A good one, that pays well and I enjoy 5. What is the capital of England? 'E'   (then after my rolling my eyes and repeating the question with the word city in it )  London 6. Where do babies come from?...

Interview with my 8 year old

Five years ago I started interviewing Leo just after his birthday with a set of questions I found online. Every year since I have repeated the interview with the same questions. It's lovely to look back over the years and see what changes,   or stays the same!

Interview with a 4 year old {Loukas}

Image
I was really starting to think that I wouldn't be able to get an interview video from Louka for his 4th birthday as every time I've asked him since his birthday he has refused to do it,   but after almost giving up I asked him again yesterday and he said yes! It's not the best video as he insisted on doing it on his bed (the bottom bunk) so the light is rubbish,   and I also tried to take his 'baby' cup off of him while I filmed but he was having none of that either.   (He does drink from normal cups, he just likes to have milkshake in ones with a lid so he can shake them! Strangely this was not his favourite drink when asked - which it usually is!   Leo always answered with the thing he could see or had most recently done so that answer was a surprise! I love that corrected me when I said biscuits to 'Biscota' as since going to school he always uses the Greek for them. I was also expecting his friend Jaxon to get a mention, but it was very sweet ...

Interview with a 7 year old

I am predictably late with Leo's interview for this year, I did manage to record it reasonably close to his birthday which was back in May but I've had it saved on my phone for a few weeks without getting it up on the blog. It was not the best recording and I had it in mind to redo it but the star of the video was not so enthusiastic about a rerun so I thought we'd stick with the original! Just in case you couldn't hear all the answers..... 1. What is your favourite colour?   Silver (not what I was expecting, it's usually blue!)  2. What is your favourite toy?      He hasn't got one, but when pushed he said Rhino  (a small plastic toy he got from school)  3. What is your favorite fruit?    Pear (another unexpected answer, I was expecting grapes) 4. What is your favourite tv show? Teen Titans  (No surprises there, including the fact that he sang it!)  5. What is your favourite thing to eat for lunch? ...

Interview with a 3 year old {Loukas}

Image
Every year since Leo turned three I have 'interviewed' him just after his birthday, asking him the same list of questions each year to see how his answers change over the years. This year, Louka got to join in with the tradition as he turned three in August.... He was very funny, whispering his answers so quietly at first that we could hardly hear him, and them looking to Leo at each question as if to check what he should be saying.   He was a little confused at 'What is your favourite thing to wear?' as at that point in the year it had been months since he had been in much more than a pair of pants or shorts! I'd forgotten how much harder it is to interview a three year old compared to a 5 or 6 year old,  but that's part of the fun.   He was spinning around and trying to stand on his head and told us that his favourite thing to eat was a light saber! It also turns out that is is rather fond of apples! Best answer though has to be ...

Interview with a 6 year old

Image
For the last three years, inspired by something  I saw on pinterest I have interviewed Leo just after his birthday. After last years 'interview with a 5 year old ' I decided to avoid Louka trying to steal the limelight and interview with less distractions! You can't quite hear the first couple of answers which were blue as his favourite colour - a strange answer when everyone who knows him knows its ALWAYS red! His favourite toy was something random but is his light saber, wand and time turner. I'm also not sure why he answers them all in a funny voice! I love the fact that at the last question he looks at Aaron who was sitting opposite him - I'd assumed he would say photographer (like Daddy)  but impressed he instead said 'Klik Photo CY' with great enthusiasm, he's learning the art of promotion already. Ah, that's my boy!

Interview with a 5 year old

Image
I've been a little behind on keeping this little blog of mine updated and my little man has been 5 for several weeks now without me posting his yearly interview! Its a couple of weeks old now so knowing him the answers would be different even now, in fact I did video him twice as the first one was a bit of a disaster with him not really paying attention and Louka causing even more chaos than usual.  After watching the lovely calm videos from my fellow bloggers The Boy and Me , Lauren and Jenny , I did think about retrying it without Louka in the background, but then I realised it was quite a good representation of this point in time and decided to go with it! I realise I sound distracted, which is due to trying to work out how to keep Louka quiet - I must point out he wasn't crying because he was hurt, he was just being stroppy and he was trying to give Leo a kiss, he just tends to over react!  I also have no idea what Leo was singing in Greek, so if you speak G...

Interview with a four year old

Image
Last year when Leo turned 3 I interviewed him after seeing the idea online. I thought it would be interesting to see how his answers change (or not) over the years. Here is my interview with my four year old (with a little bit of input from his little brother!) The filming could have been better but Louka insisted on standing up so I was trying to stop him falling over or grabbing my camera. There were a few random answers but that's Leo for you!   I was also quite surprised that he burst into song halfway through when I asked him what his favourite was, especially as it was in Greek! Oh, and he likes Lucie really!
