Save the Children - No child born to die

As you may have noticed I love all the memes and link ups floating around in blog world but this time I've been tagged by Heather at 'SAHM loving it' in one that actually has a point!

The plan is to promote Save The Childrens 'Born to' campaign which was created to raise awareness that no child should be born to die.
Did you know that every year 8 million children under 5 die from illnesses we know how to treat or prevent such as diarrhoea and pneumonia.

Save The Children is focusing on providing vaccinations and healthcare workers. In June there is a meeting in London hosted by David Cameron and attended by other world leaders. Save The Children aims to make as much noise as possible to ensure the funding shortfall for vaccinations (4.7 billion) is met by all the donor countries. You can absolutely help with this by signing the Save the Children petition and then passing  it onto your friends. Pls do this by May 29th.

You can also help if you are a blogger by joining in this meme, All you have to do is:

  1. Sign the petition and pass onto your friends
  2. Let your child draw a self portrait of themselves and write a blog post about this challenge
  3. Tag 8 fellow bloggers
  4. Link back to Red Ted Art's blog.

So I asked Leo what he would like to be when he grows up at several different times in the hope I would eventually get an answer that made some sort of sense. (Don't forget he is not yet two years old!) Replies included table, bebums (raisins), look Mummy dirty feet, and circle.

Eventually I got the crayons and paper out to immense excitement from him as it is possibly his favourite activity and asked him to draw what he would like to be....

"is kerkles an lines mummy"

I also rephrased the question and asked him what he wanted to be when he was bigger.....

He replied (with arms waving above his head)   'BIG.'        Fair enough!

So many bloggers have done this meme already I think I'd struggle to find 8 in my blogroll who have not already been tagged. So I'm going to cheat and skip the tagging part.   Please feel free to join in though if you wish, or at the very least go and sign the petition NOW!
